Hannah's concepts to her work emerges from an examination of how shame and alienation experienced by traumatized caregivers contribute to the cyclical transmission of generational trauma. In particular, how unresolved emotional histories reverberate through family systems, shaping relational dynamics. This inquiry guides both the formal and material decisions within the work, which consists of utilizing digitally manipulated and composited imagery, self-portraiture, video, and installation.

resilience of young black adult women as they navigate hair, life’s struggles, and the process of
understanding themselves. This work seeks the continuous involvement and empowerment of
young African American women to create space for love, community, and generational African
traditions in the participation of hair.

Joanna Hurless, a St. Louis based photographer, has the question of Photographic Truth has become a common theme throughout her work, with composites and digital manipulation of an image altering the reality of the photograph. Her work explores the idea of becoming so immersed in a video game that it would be possible to be transported inside a virtual world. Graduated in 2024.

Anabelle Adochio initially started taking photographs of wildlife, which sparked her interest in photography. Her recent fine art works talk about mental health with a focus on depression, bipolar disorder, and suicide. She also has been working with trauma from childhood abuse and sexual assault.
