PHOTO AREA AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
Jakob Ruffner, a student majoring in Geography and Political Science at SIUE, had work published in the River Bluff Review. Ruffner had taken Alternative Photography this semester and presented a beautiful final series of cyanotype prints that combined his interest in environmental issues with his keen photographic vision.

Eleven students in the Alternative Photography course had work exhibited for World Cyanotype Day at A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX and the Healing Arts Center in New Orleans, LA
MFA Photo Candidate Rosalind Williams was awarded the 2020 Lois Field Memorial Scholarship Award from the Society for Photographic Education.
BFA Photo Candidate Ash Hupperts attended the Society for Photographic Education International Conference in Houston, Texas. They had their portfolio reviewed by renowned artists and curators and participated in events hosted by SPE and FotoFest.
MFA Photo Candidate Jenny Kettler was awarded the Art Service Award by this year's Annual Student Exhibition juror. MFA Photo Candidate Rosalind Williams and BFA Photo Candidate Paul Laciefield were awarded Photo Club Awards for their work in the Annual Student Exhibition.
Fourteen students in the Advanced Photography course participated in a collaborative exhibition of works with an advanced photography class at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Over the course of four weeks, students from each school were paired together to create a series of photographs in conversation with each other. The work was exhibited at SIUE and the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The project was organized by Professor Abbey Hepner and Professor Andy Mattern.

MFA Photo Candidate Rosalind Williams' had three photographs exhibited in the Society for Photographic Education Midwest Juried Exhibition at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design Brooks Stevens Gallery.

Fourteen students in the Intermediate Photography course participated in a collaborative exhibition of works with an advanced photography class at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Over the course of four weeks, students from each school were paired together to create a series of photographs in conversation with each other. The work was exhibited at SIUE and at NMSU. The project was conceived and organized by Professor Abbey Hepner and Professor Bree Lamb.
