Sydney's series "Uprooted" is a coming-of-age story that embraces the continued learning and
resilience of young black adult women as they navigate hair, life’s struggles, and the process of
understanding themselves. This work seeks the continuous involvement and empowerment of
young African American women to create space for love, community, and generational African
traditions in the participation of hair.
